Elephant Arch Records
Elephant Arch record label is run by two friends who have always wanted to run one. Their stated aim is 'to support Northern music with an emphasis on bands and artists based in and around Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester. They aim to only use local businesses for print, press and manufacture where possible, and will promote them through social media and shout-outs with the intention of driving the independent economy of the city forward, in turn creating a music centred community of local independent businesses and artists'.
Elephant arch aim to have, as they put it, 'an inclusive roster with all genders, LGBTQ and BAME artists represented equally. 10% of profits per release – label side - will be donated to a charity chosen by the artist and this is written into release contracts.' Their first band, Leeds based Soft Jocks have asked if they can match it on their side too.
