Kicking off with the first event on November 20th at The Attic (at Neighbourhood / Aire Park). Followed by two further online sessions in early 2025.

Join Launchpad and friends at Leeds Creative Skills Festival on Monday 18 November 2024 at Royal Armouries in Leeds.

Organised by Leeds City Council’s Employment & Skills Service, Leeds Creative Skills Festival 2024 returns for its third year this November.

This year, the event will take place in a brand new location – the amazing and culturally rich Royal Armouries in Leeds.

Get ready for a fresh experience filled with inspiration and discovery. Explore exciting career paths, unleash your creativity, learn from industry experts.

Everyone is welcome, you can stay as long as you like and the event is free to attend.

Launchpad Presents 'The Sesh' Music Industry Panel + Gig at The Polar Bear Music Club, Hull

 
 

Join Launchpad in collaboration with The Sesh, for an evening of presentation and panel discussion, for those aiming to build a career in music throughout Yorkshire. 

Taking place from 7 pm on Tuesday 20th of August at the Polar Bear Music Club, Hull, the evening will feature details of Launchpad programs that provide industry advice & mentoring, opportunities to perform live at festivals and events across the region and funding to support project and personal development, as well as opportunities by other organisations such as Youth Music, Help Musicians & PRS Foundation.

Discussing opportunities to develop music careers will be a panel discussion from those who have received support from Launchpad and other organisations and who have built their careers in the music industry, talking through their experience and passing on advice about working in the industry, Including:

Stick around after the panel for a Launchpad special of the classic Sesh night from 8:30 pm. Special Guests to be announced.

Launchpad is delivered by Music Local, and is supported by Youth Music, with public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, PPL Giving, Bradford Council, Leeds City Council funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and PRS Foundation's Talent Development Partnership supported by PPL.

On Sunday 28th of May Launchpad will be curating a full day of emerging talent, from all corners of the jazz+ world as part of Leeds Jazz Festival 2023. Located on Cookridge Street, Leeds we are taking over the 'Welcome to Leeds stage’. Entry to the stage is free, with food and drink available from various retailers.

The Welcome to Leeds Stage at Leeds Jazz Festival is the family friendly, open air, free stage Located on Cookridge Street, Between The Radisson hotel and Henry Moore Institute.

Jazz North x Launchpad: Emerging Artists Development Day

 
 

As part of Leeds Jazz Festival, we are teaming up with Jazz North to bring you a relaxed and informative event for artists on Thursday 23rd May at Hyde Park Book Club.

As part of Jazz North’s support for emerging artists, they will be releasing a comprehensive guide to kicking off your live career in jazz: our Emerging Artists’ Live Toolkit. 

The day is all about taking a deep dive into some of those topics, connecting with like-minded artists and sharing your own insights. 

With the help of some very brilliant guest speakers (to be announced), we will be exploring creative identity, establishing your values and goals, finding your place on the live music scene and growing your live and online audience. 

We’d love to see you there. Spaces are limited so sign up in advance to secure your space and complimentary drink.
