Muriel & Blazquez
Muriel & Blazquez are a genre infusing classical pop duo based in Leeds. With a backdrop of serene harmonies and intricate piano parts, Muriel & Blazquez “challenge social rituals and the world around them”. Previous singles ‘Skin /Veil Me’ and ‘Moonbeam’ have been featured on Fresh On The Net, Tom Robinson’s MixTape on BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing West Yorkshire and Classical Classroom as well as other local radio stations.
They have been compared to the likes of Julia Holter and These New Puritans, while Neil March (composer and moderator for Fresh On The Net) described their music as bringing, “...classical piano and voice into an ethereal, almost filmic pop setting”
