Akin Amusan
With a smooth voice, and refreshing sound , Akin Amusan has his sights set on becoming a household name in the UK music industry. Whether connecting to his African roots through jazz, or the outstanding use of futuristic RnB and Gospel vocal harmonies in his songs, the artist is coming with a fresh approach to how music is both created and experienced.
Akin was featured in BBC one’s hit TV series Pitch Battle, as part of the winning group, Leeds Contemporary Singers. On the show, he was very fortunate to have worked with the likes of Will Young, Gareth Malone, Kelis, and the one and only Jermaine Jackson, who all spoke very highly of Akin’s undeniable talent and vocal arranging abilities.
In recent years Akin has opened for some of the biggest and reputable names in RnB Including Lalah Hathaway and the legendary Eric Benét. After many years performing as a backing vocalist for artists such as Jorja Smith, Stormzy, Dave and international sensation, Giveon, Akin Amusan is ready to step into the limelight as a solo artist he’s destined to be.
As a songwriter and musician, is greatly inspired by an eclectic mix of artists such as Brandy, Daniel Caesar, JP Cooper, John Mayer and Oh Wonder and has derived his unique sound by combining elements from some of his favourite artists.
