Harkirit Boparai
Harkirit is an independent promoter and DJ working across Yorkshire, booking across a range of genres from jazz to afrobeat, hip hop, psych, techno and disco. After spending eight years promoting and managing shows at The Crescent in York under Ouroboros, he is now manager at West Yorkshire Music Network, building on his experience as a regional coordinator for Music Venue Trust, and co-founding York Music Venue Network.
West Yorkshire Music Network is a new project, supported by Tracey Brabin, that seeks to network together and celebrate the diverse music scene and industry across West Yorkshire. It hopes to advocate for better investment into the region, celebrate local success stories and help deal with challenges to the sector.
