Laura Jones (DJ)
To the outside eye, Laura Jones’s DJ career began with a fairytale start. One of her first productions scored a number one on a Beatport genre chart for several weeks during the summer of 2011, filled her DJ diary for the rest of the year and propelled her forward onto the global touring circuit. She was tagged by Mixmag, DJ Mag and i-D Magazine as one of the breakout stars of the early 2010s and was taken under the wing of key clubs like Circo Loco, Ibiza and Fabric London as well as festivals like Movement Detroit, Awakenings Holland, Piknik Electronik Montreal and a hectic tour schedule across multiple global territories like North and South America, Australia and South East Asia.
A subsequent diagnosis of a rare form of blindness hasn’t stopped her and throughout her career, Jones has been called on regularly to discuss the challenges faced as an artist with a disability or impairment; shehas been featured on ITN and BBC2 as well as in magazines such as Marie Claire.
In 2016, she unveiled her new label Sensoramic featuring inspirational artists like Mandar’s S.A.M, New York minimalist, Kamran Sadeghi, the late Trevino (Marcus Intalex) and Perlon artis8 Ivan Iacobucci under his U-More alias.
She took time out to become a mother in 2018 but re-emerged to contribute a single to the NHS Care4Life charity compilation in 2020 alongside the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Daniel Avery and Luke Vibert. She continues to push forward as one of dance music's most inspirational talents.
