George Bloomfield
George is an artist and media composer based in Leeds. He collaborates with a range of production and film companies and his compositions are played across the BBC, Channel 4, NBC and BTSport. He has scored a variety of contexts from documentaries, adverts, audio branding, sound design and currently an immersive dance performance.
He releases his own solo indie/jazz/funk project that takes influence from his film scores, combining soulful horn and string arrangements with a classic indie band setup in a fusion of styles that is all about textural contrast. He performs these arrangements live with his 7 piece band at festivals such as Live at Leeds and Leeds Jazz Fest, and is supported by the likes of BBC Introducing. He is a current recipient of the Youth Music ‘Next Gen’ fund for a hybrid format music and film documentary.
