Kara King

Kara is a Leeds Beckett graduate with a degree in Music Industries Management. Throughout her time at university, she fostered an interest in sociology, specifically researching gender and its intersections within the music industry.

Wanting to work in live events, in 2022 Kara co-founded ‘Us Too Events’ as part of ‘Come Platform Me’. Its aim is to promote people of marginalised genders within live music, especially those aspiring to work in ‘behind the scenes’ roles. Through their events, Us Too hopes to foster conversations about gender disparities within the music industry and work towards making it more inclusive and accessible.
