Meltwater

Based in Leeds but originating from Hartlepool, Meltwater (Jon Gibson) has played music under various guises for over a decade: on guitar, writing, releasing and touring with Arcs and Trauma; and as bass music producer, JGYB, releasing on Container (Portugal) and Liminal Sounds (UK).

Meltwater builds on Jon’s interest in electronic and guitar music to craft a varied pallet of songs from bass-driven rhythm sections, folk and ambient-inspired guitar and soulful vocals, taking influence from the likes of Nicolas Jaar and John Martyn.

Meltwater has landed support slots with artists including Binkbeats (Headrow House, Leeds) and Advance Base (Brudenell Social Club, Leeds] and featured at Sofar Sounds Middlesbrough and Northern Electric Festival.
