Lucky Iris

Lucky Iris are an alt-pop duo, made up of Maeve and Jasper, based in Leeds. With their lyrics described as a ‘cotton-candy kick in the face’, they write songs for you to dance or cry to, depending on your mood.

The pair formed in lockdown with the self-release of their concept EP ‘Turns Out We Should Have Stayed At Home’, featuring the lead single ‘Get Ready With Me’. From there the duo really began to pick up momentum with their debut single ‘Coffee Shop’ shortly followed by ‘Speak Soon’ which gained plays from Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, multiple regional BBC Introducing plays from Emily Pilbeam (alongside a BBC Introducing Live Session) and airtime on other stations including Amazing Radio in the UK and the USA and Spotify editorial playlisting with the track ‘(i’m not good at writing) love songs’. The duo started performing live in September 2021, and since then they have gone on to support the likes of: Stealing Sheep, Real Lies and the Lottery Winners, as well as featuring at festivals including Live At Leeds, Long Division and 110 Above. Their touring has seen them go from Leeds to London to Liverpool and many towns and cities in between. Other accolades include getting longlisted for Glastonbury and most recently being awarded funding from Help Musicians.

This summer Lucky Iris are set to release their new EP ‘maybe i’m too much’, their latest expression of their lessons learnt in love and friendships. With notable hyper-pop influences and a long-lasting love for British indie music, they are excited to share their most developed sound yet. Written and produced by the duo, mixed by Richard Wilkinson (Adele, Kaiser Chiefs) and mastered by Antony Ryan (Oh Wonder).

Their upcoming shows include the Brudenell Piano Sessions, 26th March (for world piano day), an intimate performance at the Vinyl Whistle as part of the Pop Trash residency, and Great Escape Festival 2023, plus many more tba.
