Life Aquatic Band

Life Aquatic Band’s (L.A.B.) music brings sunshine to drab days - a mix of 70s Pop and early 2000s ElectroClash - we sit somewhere between Graceland-era Paul Simon and LCD Soundsystem.

In 2023, L.A.B. self-produced and released an album full of positivity: FREE SUMMER. Since then, We have been touring the UK and playing at festivals including at Glastonbury Festival, Shambala, Wild Fire, Y Not, Green Island, and won a public vote held by BBC Introducing to play Sheffield’s Tramlines.

With support from Help For Musicians’ Record and Release fund, we were able to develop a release plan that saw our single 'Hello Good Morning' receive airplay from BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson, Deb Grant and Tom Ravenscroft, whilst our second single 'Brunch Mindset' was playlisted by 6 Music and received considerable airplay on Lemacq's Drive Time. We have been featured in the Gigwise, Nowthen, NME, and smaller independent magazines like Manchester’s Loosefit and Sheffield’s Exposed, and sold out a limited vinyl run (50) of our album.

We toured as the main support on Skinny Lister’s 2023 UK tour, returning to a headline tour through March-May in 2024. This summer we’re back writing new material, and will be working on our new album.

“Upbeat, sun-drenched and life-affirming music that bursts out of your speakers”

- Tom Robinson, 6 Music

“A blend of new and old Post-punk - who wants to go for Brunch?”

- Steve Lamacq - 6 Music
