Claudia Fenoglio
With only a couple of releases under her belt, Claudia Fenoglio's combination of intimate vocals and dreamy indie- pop production has already garnered her the attention of BBC Introducing West Yorkshire. Other radio features include her in- session performance for BBC Introducing, following the release of her first single, “Waste”, in April 2019, which amassed over 30, 00 streams in the first couple of weeks.
Riding on this success, her single “Over Now”, written and self-produced during lockdown, was released in 2020. “There is almost has a gossamer quality to the song - with its delicate mix of acoustic guitar and silky vocals - which only serve to highlight the paper-thin vulnerability of the lyrics”. (Nice People, Leeds).
After taking a short break from music to finish her degree at the University of Leeds, Claudia’s newest single entitled “19 Again”, was released on 1st October 2021, with production from Tim Malkin (Talkboy). As Claudia reveals, 19 Again’s lyrical element centres largely around the fear of not being able to escape feelings of sadness and loneliness that were once felt at a previous stage of your life. “I was certainly afraid of finishing University and felt quite down about this stage of my life coming to an end. When I was 19, I took a gap year alone in my hometown, so I felt anxious about returning to a place where I wasn’t in a comfortable bubble anymore.” Taking inspiration from the likes of Julia Jacklin, Courtney Barnett and The Staves, the track confidently secures Claudia’s place within the indie- pop genre, with more music set to be released in the New Year.
