Ava In The Dark
Leeds-based indie pop-rock band AVA IN THE DARK released their debut EP ‘DELETE US FOREVER’ late 2020. The EP is a glimpse into the soul of lead-singer, Kiera where dark meanings are dressed in an ethereal angelic sound, the perfect storm of ice-cold goth colliding with sumptuous, new Pop. It’s about mental health in adolescence, social pressures, and self-love, presented in a nostalgic era-bound frame, sometimes ironically.
Kiera’s vocals contrast from captivating, soft, angelic whispers to anthemic reverberant courses. Combined with distorted, synth-drenched instrumentals create AVA IN THE DARK’s fresh, vibrant sound.
The EP’s first single, ‘DELETE US FOREVER’ was recorded and released as part of a unique lockdown project with 2x Grammy Award-winning mix engineer Eduardo De La Paz. Their long-awaited first live performance of the EP is at Royal Park Cellars, Leeds on October 9th.
Performed in a live session with BBC Introducing West Yorkshire recorded at Left Bank and a session on XS Manchester with Jim Salveson, the EP received massive attention from BBC Radio 6 Tom Robinson’s Mixtape, BBC Radio Wales including ‘DELETE US FOREVER’ in their A-list for 2 weeks after many plays on Adam Walton’s show, XS Manchester’s Sophie Sveinsson and the Evening Playlist, Amazing Radio’s Shell Zenner, Charlie Ashcroft and Frankie Francis, and continuous airplay from Student Radio Network, including ‘DELETE US FOREVER’ on their ‘Notebooks n Chill’ playlist. Our biggest supporters have been Emily Pilbram and Shell Zenner with the EP receiving over 20 consecutive plays across their shows.
AVA IN THE DARK are currently writing and recording their second EP due late-2021 / early 2022.
