"Charlie leads Tees Valley Combined Authority’s work to grow the creative and visitor economies. This includes the design and delivery of TVCA’s £20.5m Growth Programme for the Creative & Visitor Economies as well as ensuring strategic connectivity across policy areas to maximise devolution opportunities for the benefit of the creative and cultural industries. Her leadership and collaborative, cross-boundary approach has supported the realisation of the transformational North East Screen Industries Partnership, unlocking a £25m investment commitment from the BBC and a further £11.4m of Combined Authority investment into screen industries development across the North East. In September 2024, TVCA announced a bold, new three-year music industry development programme in Tees Valley, in partnership with Generator and Tees Music Alliance. Sonic Futures will deliver more than £2m investment into talent development, support for live music venues and sector skills.
Before joining the Combined Authority, Charlie was Creative Director of placemaking studio, OpenPlan - working internationally to raise the profile of the value of the creative industries in plans for spatial and economic regeneration and delivering creative-led community engagement programmes”
