La Rissa

Tipped as ones to watch by Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing, La Rissa are a dark-wave duo making post-punk synth pop in a dim little attic in Leeds. Think of a cold-wave Lana Del Rey fronting Depeche Mode covering a Joy Division album co-written by Zola Jesus and you’re on the right path.

Mixing their 80’s analogue synth production and powerful socio-political vocals with big nostalgic beats, La Rissa are described as West Yorkshire’s most exciting contemporary acts with their most recent festival performance receiving recognition from electronic duo Utah Saints ‘definitely watch out for La Rissa…big talents’.

La Rissa have been featured on BBC 6 Music and Huw Stephens' BBC Radio 1 show, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. They’ve had supporting slots with HMLTD, Bleib Modern, Black Nail Cabaret and dark-wave legends Clan of Xymox.
