Yorkshire Music Forum Convention 2022 - Showcase

The YMF Showcase is back at Belgrave Music Hall, with an evening of riffs, dark wave and synth-infused noise from Weekend Recovery, Fleeces and La Rissa.

Weekend Recovery Formed in 2017, Weekend Recovery has been on a potent ascent of UK rock music with a garage/punk/grunge rock sound which has been increasingly hungry for attention. Their new EP, No Guts, All The Glory, simply demands that unbridled focus, its four tracks a host of the sharpest hooks, devilish imagination and virulence of contagion which rivals the common cold; it all brought with another escalation of craft and invention which has been an open book in the band’s music.

Fleeces Who are Fleeces? Trendsetters, globetrotters, trollhunters. Based in Leeds, Fleeces are your new favourite band inspired by 90s alt-rock and cult TV.

Featuring on BBC 6 Music, Huw Stephens' BBC Radio 1 show and BBC Introducing, La Rissa are a dark-wave duo making spooky synth pop in a dim little attic in Leeds. La Rissa mix 80’s electronic analogue synth production and powerful socio-political vocals and big beats
