The evening featured:

Treeboy & Arc - Listen here

Treeboy & Arc was formed in Leeds in 2016. At this early stage, the band were playing gigs on the landings of their parents’ houses, their friends’ house parties and the smaller venue circuit around the city. In early 2018, the band moved in together in to a small red-brick terraced house in the heart of LS6. Quickly converting their basement in to a small and damp rehearsal space made up of some egg box sound-proofing and an old carpet donated by a parent. It was at this stage the band started writing the music they play today.

Since then, the band have shared stages with the likes of Parquet Courts, Shame, Ulrika Spacek & Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever to name a few, whilst slowly gaining the love of the locals, selling out hometown shows on a number of occasions, alongside shows in other cities around the UK. Their most recent release ’Life Preserver’ is a four-track EP written and recorded throughout the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020. It is the band’s first bigger release which showcases the more mature and refined sound they have grown into.

L'Objectif - Listen here

L'objectif are schoolmates from Leeds, Saul Kane (vocals, guitar) Louis Bullock (drums), Ezra Glennon (bass) and Dan Richardson (guitar). With each member picking up instruments as children, the young friends-none of whom are over the age of 17-have a shared love of genres and musicians jazz funk, hip-hop, punk, post-punk, and almost everything in between. Also inspired by painters Basquiat and Francis Bacon, L’objectif seek excitement in the intellectually stimulating and subjective; finding thrill in the confusion.

Mollie Coddled - Listen here

Mollie Coddled is a self-produced Indie Pop artist based in the North of England. Merging Dreamy Indie and Alt-Pop, Mollie pairs soft, soulful vocals with a soundscape of hazy, echo-laden guitars and synthesisers. Being influenced by the Bedroom Pop scene, Mollie produces her songs in her own bedroom, bringing an intimate feel to her music. Mollie's self-released journey has seen support from DORK magazine as well as huge support from Spotify, landing on New Music Friday, Fresh Finds and more.
Summery synthesisers, reverb drenched guitars and intimate vocals shape her sound; which encompasses the feeling of being lonely but full of love at the same time; something which is a very widely shared experience within Generation Z.

Straight Girl - Listen here

Electropunk juggernaut ‘STRAIGHT GIRL’ is the alias of Leeds-based composer and producer Remy Enceladus (non-binary | they/them pronouns). Heralded for their ‘magnetic and exhilarating’ live performances, the self-branded ‘connoisseur of sad-dance’ has been bulldozing their way through the UK’s alternative, electronic, and progressive scenes since 2019.
Having frequented BBC Introducing and being declared ‘zesty’ from the likes of Tom Robinson’s 6 Music Mixtape, STRAIGHT GIRL has stamped their own brand of ‘grave rave’ across the country from performing support slots with the likes of Kero Kero Bonito, Dream Wife, Billy Nomates, and Miss Eaves, to securing merciless festival stage performances at the likes of ArcTanGent, Live At Leeds, Sound City, and more."

Pleasure Centre - Listen here

A Stunning example of Shoegaze..” - Jericho Keys (BBC Introducing York/North Yorkshire). Through ethereal guitar hooks and driving rhythm sections 'Pleasure Centre' offers a sad and loud soundscape to captivate. The Shoegaze/Dreampop band formed in Scarborough North Yorkshire, now based within Leeds has inspirations such as Slowdive, Sonic Youth and My bloody Valentine to The Ninth Wave and BDRMM. Pleasure Centre brings a raw and powerful wall of noise to the alternative rock scene.

In The Morning Lights - Listen here

In the Morning Lights is a labour of patience, love and friendship that ties two very different yet very similar individuals together. Brighton raised producer Monkey Harper incorporates found sound with acoustic elements, exploring the weirder side of alt-pop. The vocals of Matilde Mirotti put the final stamp of originality on their sound that elevates their music onto a plane of its own.

Their songs are populated by emotions, characters and stories that have become the pair’s personal commentary on human behaviour. In the Morning Lights is the result of many hours spent in a tiny room among tiny arguments, trying to figure out what to feel and how to say it. Having just signed a worldwide publishing deal with Faber Alt alongside the likes of Jonny Greenwood, Keaton Henson and Anna Meredith 2022 is looking to be an exciting year for In The Morning Lights.

Adult DVD - Listen here

A band formed originally as a product of lockdown boredom, Adult DVD began in the form of friends Harry Hanson and Greg Lonsdale experimenting with synths and writing over the internet together. As musical ideas blossomed into fully-fledged songs, further members Jonathan Newell, Danny Blackburn, Jake Williams and George Manson joined and the full band became a reality.

Blue Kubricks - Listen here

Blue Kubricks are an alt-pop-funk-rock band.  They are currently based in Leeds, in the Northwest of England, and signed to Monomyth Records.  Over the last 12 months they have released three singles, with accompanying music videos, and their debut EP, Manuka, is due to be released in February 2022.  Their latest single, Comfortable Ride, is an infectious alternative disco track that combines irresistible, upbeat grooves with unforgettable vocal hooks.  It’s pop, but not as you know it!  The track was released last month and is approaching 20,000 streams on Spotify.  An exclusive Blue Kubricks track (Elizabeth) was also recently featured by northern label Come Play With Me on their ‘Boundless’ LP (compilation album), which ‘showcases some of the best new music from creatives of colour based in Yorkshire’. Blue Kubricks are renowned for their dynamic live shows – a reviewer for Local Sound Focus described their recent performance at The Wardrobe in Leeds as ‘red hot music and a show to match’.  Other performance highlights from the past few months include playing the BBC Introducing stage at Tramlines festival and supporting The Luka State on the Leeds leg of their European tour.

Lady - Listen here

LADY is a Leeds based outfit reworking the sound and feel of Soul and Psych Rock in a powerful Alt Indie hotpot. Taking you on a journey through ethereal vocals and dreamy soundscapes to hard-hitting guitars and strident, powerful melodies in a heartbeat. With influences such as Jeff Buckley, Khruangbin and HAIM.
