Sophie Russell

Cherry Seraph is the solo alt-pop electronic project of producer, artist and multi-instrumentalist Sophie Russell. Based between Bradford and Leeds, Cherry began to produce in 2020 whilst finishing her degree in Politics and had produced and released her first EP by 2021. In 2022, she had her first support from BBC Introducing. 2023 saw her first live gig in Paris and has since continued performing in Bradford, Leeds (including Sofar Sounds), Wakefield and Sheffield. Beyond BBC Introducing, Cherry has received support from Plastic Magazine (“soul-stirring vocals”), Obscure Sound, Jarred Up (“reminiscent of The Japanese House”) and offers for coverage from Earmilk. She has recently returned from Battery Studios in London through support from Help Musicians, was selected as the artist in residence at LBU and is also now funded through Youth Music Next Gen for her next release. Her preparation continues for a busy 2024.
