VERA SACRA

VERA SACRA is a producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist from Sheffield, based between her hometown and London.

Swirling synth lines and strings meet dance-inspired production in VERA SACRA's elegantly crafted etherealism, the solo project of 23-year-old cellist and producer Emily Marks. A classically trained cellist, her songs elegantly strike a balance between modern, deconstructed dance, ambient pop and neoclassical influences, resulting in dark, dreamy meditations on love, loneliness and obsession in the capital. Her live shows involve intricate arrangements of samples, cello and vocals with an ambient yet dance-influenced sound. VERA SACRA has performed in London at Windmill Brixton, The Social and The George Tavern as well as across the country at Sidney & Matilda (Sheffield) and Belgrave Music Hall (Leeds).

VERA SACRA was chosen as a supported artist by Leeds-based talent development partner Launchpad in 2021-22. Since moving to London for university she has been involved in the London community radio and dance music scenes while continuing to finish new music alongside her studies, the first few songs of which will be released mid-2024 on Launchpad+ via EMI North.
