Max Lilley
Max is a music graduate based in Hull developing a career in the music industry. He graduated with a First in Popular Music from the University of Hull in 2018 and has recently completed a Masters degree. During the first lockdown Max wanted to do something to help local artists and raise money for the Music Venues Trust so started Formed By A River. This brought together 12 artists from along the M62 who each contributed previously unreleased material to a compilation. Max compiled, organised, and arranged said compliation and raised over £500 for the trust.
Max developed his skills as a promoter by helping The Sesh at The Polar Bear in Hull, booking artists for many of their events and running the nights while also representing other events at The Polar Bear. His band, Bloodhound, book all their own supports for local and some further afield gigs, Max also books the tours. He has also been booking artists for the University of Hull’s concert series as they began introducing more popular music oriented gigs.
Recently, Max has been touring with artists as their on-stage guitar technician and general crew. Most recently he embarked on a tour with Hull-based band Fever when they were opening for Blossoms in March 2020. He's planning more tours when possible. He also helped LIFE prepare their equipment for recording their third album.
Max hopes that, by being involved with the Launchpad Future Leaders programme, he'll achieve more of an understanding about the industry, develop his skills and experience and take the next steps towards becoming an artist/touring and tech manager.
