Starting with musical forays on a drum kit at the age of 10, making noise in the quiet, rural village of Thurston in Suffolk where he grew up, wax works aka Adam Levey has never looked back, his love affair with music quickly gravitating toward the guitar, song writing and self-production. Now residing in Leeds, this self-sufficient, multi-instrumentalist now spends most days in his bedroom, chipping away at his distinctive sound.

wax works’ proclaims his sound to be a ‘love child’ of indie pop stars Dayglow and Alfie Templeman, and 80s disco and funk. Early influences The Kooks and Arctic Monkeys seem to also bubble up through his riff-based choruses and use of fuzzy guitar tones.
