VERA SACRA (Emily Marks) is a producer and multi-instrumentalist from Sheffield.
After attracting support from BBC Introducing in Sheffield for her acoustic-based songs, Emily decided to embark on a new musical turn as VERA SACRA after dreaming up the name one day in Vienna.
A global pandemic was really the worst time to fall in love with dance music but an excellent time to be forced into the studio. Although little of it has surfaced yet, snippets of the upcoming debut VERA SACRA EP appear fleetingly online, an artist who apparently thrives on mystery.
Rumour has it VERA SACRA is currently working on an ethereal synth-pop sound interspersed with ambient and electro-inspired sounds - quintessentially Sheffield yet hard to pin down. Having studied in London for the past two years, the VERA SACRA sound has had time to mature and adapt to the vibrant sounds of the capital while maintaining a certain Northern grit. As an artist who is constantly changing, VERA SACRA is an exciting one to watch - catch her while you can.
