Rosie Miles

Rosie Miles is a vocalist and writer whose compositions sit between the worlds of Folk & Jazz. Drawing influence from the great storytellers Joni Mitchell, Lianne La Havas and Laura Marling, she tells stories through intricate melodies and poetic lyrics. Creating a narrative that can be related to by all, her music aims to comfort and challenge with its blend of serenity and gravity. Since migrating north three years ago, she has worked with many familiar faces in the Leeds scene, and is currently singing lead vocals for art-rock jazz crossover group Yaatri as well as performing in trip-hop project B-ahwe and improvised jazz octet Flood Company.

Her band brings together wonderful musicians that she met whilst studying at Leeds Conservatoire. They are Sam Palizian on electric bass (APLTN), Liam DeTar on guitar (Yaatri, B-ahwe) and George Hall on drums (Tetes de Pois, Ugetsu). Weaving together jazz harmony, soaring melodies and psychedelic soundscapes, expect an original take on classic songwriting.
