Jennifer Tate (Acting Regional Officer, North of England - The Musicians’ Union)

As the Acting Regional Officer for the North of England region at The Musician’s Union, Jennifer Tate provides support, advice and guidance to musicians at all stages of their music career covering a wide variety of areas from copyright, legal advice, employment advice and career development.

Prior to working at the MU Jennifer worked in both the private and not for profit sectors as an Event Manager and has a background in Business and Economics.

The Musicians' Union is the UK trade union for all musicians representing over 30,000 members working right across the music industry. They stand up for employed and self-employed musicians working in every area of the UK music industry, including music education.

They work to maximise the employment and overall income of musicians as well as protecting and improving working conditions. They also offer advice, support and legal assistance based on every individual member’s needs.

They actively oppose all forms of harassment, prejudice and unfair discrimination whether on the grounds of sex, race, ethnic or national origin, religion, colour, class, caring responsibilities, marital status, sexuality, disability, age, or other status or personal characteristic.
