Ruth Barlow

Director of Live Licensing/Chair of AIM - Beggars Group/Association of Independent Music

Ruth Barlow is Director of Live Licensing at the Beggars Group representing 4AD, Matador, Rough Trade, XL Recordings and Young labels and was appointed as the Chair of the Association of Independent Music (AIM) in November last year.

Her career in music began at London based radio station Xfm. She joined the Beggars Group in 2003. Ruth currently heads up Live Licensing which sees her policy making, developing & managing the varied rights deals surrounding live recording of the labels artists by third parties globally.

Ruth became a Director of Beggars Group UK in 2014 and currently sits on the board of the Association of Independent Music (AIM), as well as an observer on the boards of Driift, Earth Agency, BPI Council and UK Music.
